The paintings of Argentine artist Fabian Perez evoke the look and feel of midcentury pulp novel covers and occasionally film noir. They include beautiful, lone women waiting in desolate cafes and men, unrecognizable, smoking and watching them.
There is grace and tension in these scenes which could very well depict a hardboiled detective story.
According to his website, “Fabian paints with his emotions and each painting reflects his drive and energy.” Make of that what you will. We like the results!
