Once in a while we come across steampunk or dieselpunk bits and bobs in a main stream store on the high street (with exception of Maisons du Monde, which is pretty much the IKEA for hipsters, steampunks and dieselpunks as is) and we like to share that joyous news with you.
Currently, HEMA has what is best described as a “seafood” series. Which includes a pretty good variety of items with either vintage style octopus print and a few other octopus things. In this series there are: a recipe book, kitchen towels, pillow covers, coin purses, a brass coloured octopus shaped hook (I’m assuming for kitchen towels, but we all know these things are multifunctional), octopus string lights (2 AA battery operated so most excellent for steampunk camps and assorted), a brass octopus snowglobe and a few other bits and bobs.
And as it’s HEMA, it’s all reasonably priced too!
So if you like this sort of thing, get thee to the nearest HEMA store I say!
Some more photos under the cut.
I am aware that HEMA isn’t spread that far and wide, even though they are on a mission to conquer Europe it seems. I know there are HEMA stores in Belgium, The Netherlands, France and Germany, other countries I don’t know, but Google will be able to tell you whether or not you can find the chain in your country, good luck!
