BioShock concept art
“Rapture is on the rise!” Its elegant deco towers spire toward the surface with unprecedented audacity while the people within them perish as their very own bodies are torn apart in violent ecstasy. That is the sad history of Rapture, the underwater utopia turned horror story.

If you're at all interested, I believe I still have a small Adobe Acrobat compilation of concept art from Bioshock somewhere in my hard drive. It's mostly pencil sketches, but there's a whole lot of really strange stuff from early in the game's development (including some rather strange pictures of some proto-splicers who appear to be in the process of evolving into ginat crab creatures).
Just because you couch your game in steampunk doesn't mean you can just make stuff up.

After tracking the file down on one of my old backup discs, I've discovered that it's actually too big for me to send through Hotmail. Fortunately, I managed to find out where I got it originally.
