Topic: William Gibson Does Dieselpunk

Well, sort of.

Actually, it's a short story he wrote around 1988.  Entitled "The Gernsback Continuum," an allusion to American SF publisher Hugo Gernsback, it depicts an episode in the life of a slightly unhinged photographer who keeps seeing relics from the golden age of early 20th century technological optimism.  It's somewhat critical of the whole "raygun gothic" aesthetic, but it's a nice little read.

Just because you couch your game in steampunk doesn't mean you can just make stuff up.
