Excellent! Ilove the idea, and I for one live travelling to see strange things when I'm on holiday, even if they're out of the way. I see that they have a picture of Sealand on their link to 'micro-nations', but don't actually have Sealand listed. I know there was a problem with Sealand - it was up for sale last year- but I'm not sure of the current situation.

Great find! I sense hours of investigation and reading ahead for me.

No need to search for the Ark, it's in my basement.

sadly there aren't many places entered for germany but generally the page is a fantastic source for information.

I browsed through the information, but found it really weird. There are lots of mistakes in it, errors too. And the kind of places in it wonders me too... many are not really "curious" in one way or the other. Others are obviously missing (from my part of the world).

"If you have been to, know of, or have heard about a place that belongs in the Atlas Obscura, we want you to tell us about it. Anyone and everyone is welcome and encouraged to nominate places for inclusion, and to edit content already in the Atlas." - an open invitation, Yaghish!

I could work on that one for weeks non-stop, for I know a "curious place" in almost any place I've ever been too. So, no thanks.
I think it is a bit too big, it has mini-lands in it (like Madurodam), strange shops, museums AND collections, weird places, things that are a bit out of the ordinary but in no way strange (I could name at least three other places with the same "strangeness" that are not in the atlas). I'd rather put it upside down, you go somewhere in North-Western Europe, say where you'll stay, I'll tell you what to see.

Wow, that's a great site! I get the feeling that I'm going to be wanting to make a whole bunch of side-trips to interesting places any time I book an excursion now.
Thanks for posting!
